#Showbiz: Aliff Syukri reveals his battle with dyslexia

KUALA LUMPUR: He has short-term memory, and finds it difficult when it involves numbers and even reading.

Successful entrepreneur-turned-singer Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman recently revealed that he was diagnosed with dyslexia 10 years ago.

“I have trouble telling between left and right. It also makes me a slow reader and I find difficulty processing certain types of information.

“I’ve tried seeking professional help, but was told that it’s a lifelong neurological condition,” said Aliff in a recent news report.

The flamboyant millionaire also said that his eldest son, Ammar Ahyan, 10, also has similar condition and because of that, Aliff has enrolled him in a special school for children with dyslexia.

Aliff also added that parents whose children suffer from the condition should refrain from thinking that they lack intelligence, but instead give them the right guidance so that they could develop their learning and thinking skills at their own pace.
