KUALA LUMPUR: With football fever currently at an all time high due to 2018 World Cup taking place in Russia, many Malaysians have been glued to the TV to catch the various matches.
Actress and singer Janna Nick recently got most fans of ‘the beautiful game’ green with envy when she got the opportunity to see up-close-and-personal her favourite team, Portugal, playing against Spain at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi.
The 23-year-old actress said that although this was the first time ever that she had missed celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri at home, it was still an amazing experience to see her football idol Cristiano Ronaldo in the flesh working his magic on the field.
“I was extra thrilled since I was fortunate to be seated at the side of the field and got a close view of the players performing their warm-up routines,” said Janna, who arrived back in Malaysia on Monday.
The actress, whose real name is Nurul Jannah Muner, confessed that she had been a football fan since she was just a little girl.
“So it was a great opportunity for me to be there and actually catch a World Cup game live. It’s certainly a happy memory that I will never forget,” she said.
The Syurga Nur, Kau Aku Kita and My Coffee Prince actress also had the good fortune to catch the opening match for World Cup 2018 which saw Russia taking on Saudi Arabia in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow last Thursday.
Janna’s 8-day trip to Russia was sponsored by a smart phone brand of which she is also an ambassador for.
The actress departed for Moscow on June 11 and was accompanied by her sister Nurul Balqish, a makeup artist and a representative from the company that manages her career, LOL Entertainment.
