#Showbiz: Aussie singer Cassidy La Creme to release 2nd single

KUALA LUMPUR: She first caught the attention of local music fans when she sang Ombak Rindu in a video on YouTube in 2012.

The talented Cassidy Anderson who hails from Sydney, Australia or as Cassidy La Creme on her social media accounts, went on to cover other popular Malay tunes including Amy Search’s Tiada Lagi, Projector Band’s Sudah Ku Tahu and Black and Malique’s Teman Pengganti.

She was signed under a record label but that didn’t last long as recently, the company has ceased its operations leaving the 30-year-old performer to soldier on as an indie act.

Despite the setback, Cassidy is not about to sob over it. Instead, it only pushes her further to make it on her own.

“I admit it’s a little difficult to be an independent singer, let alone being in a foreign land. But I can still count my blessings as there are many Malaysians who support me,” said the striking blonde in a video by an entertainment portal.

Cassidy who now resides here, is working on her second single, which she hopes to release soon.

Last year, she released her debut single in Malay. Titled Seperti Dia, the love ballad is composed by Mike Chan and Ezra Kong.
