PETALING JAYA: Dubbed “cutesy screen couple” since they starred together in the romantic comedy TV series Mencintaimu Mr Photographer early this year, word has it that Syafiq Kyle and Hannah Delisha are not on speaking terms due to a misunderstanding.
Apparently, their friendship has turned sour and that they have even refused to pose for photographs together.
Commenting on this, Syafiq Kyle admitted that he too had heard the rumour but refused to entertain it since Hannah and him had always been friendly and cordial towards each other.
“No, this is just not true. We’re still best pals,” said Syafiq when met at the press preview of Langsuir at MM2 Cineplex, E-Curve in Mutiara Damansara here yesterday.
“There’s no rift between us, and the fact that we’re here together, posing for photos is proof that we get along great,” quipped Hannah.
The duo are currently promoting their first cinematic collaboration, a romantic
horror Langsuir. Directed by Osman Ali, it opens on Sept 20.
Syafiq explained that such tell-tale could have started during the film’s promotional campaigns where he and Hannah could not appear together since they had other work commitments.
“Sometimes, I couldn’t make it to a photo shoot with Hannah and vice-versa, but that doesn’t mean we do not see eye-to-eye,” he said.
Syafiq, however, admitted that rumours of their rift “helped” put Langsuir in the spotlight and promote the love story between a young man and a young vampire.
Filmed in Langkawi, Kedah last year, Hannah, 22, and Syafiq, 25, spent 25 days together filming Langsuir.
Produced by Osman’s company Nuansa and Guam Teamwork, it tells of the love between a young professional Azlan (Syafiq) and a beautiful vampire Suri (Hannah).
Azlan and his friends holiday in Langkawi where they visit the mysterious offshore island Pulau Langsuir.
It is there that he meets and falls in love with Suri but is unaware of her family background.
Others in the cast include Langsuir Firdaus Nadxaman, Julia Farhana Marin, Daaim Jailani, Shah Hakimi Amin, Nazri John, Halim Radzi and Naza Manas.
Osman is best known for the films Ombak Rindu, Langit Cinta, Pinjamkan Hatiku and Jwanita.
