#Showbiz: 'I was paid only RM80'

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven years ago, Farah Nabilah was just another fresh-faced actress-wannabe, trying to earn as much acting experience as possible.

The 26-year-old went through hard times like any other newbies, intent to establish a name in the industry.

She started out playing a minor role in drama series Mak Pengantin Tak Popular in 2011. An opportunity to star as the leading actress only came in 2015 through drama series, Inikah Cinta.

But it was only last year after pairing with Zul Ariffin in Titian Cinta did she finally hit home run, and her popularity continued to soar from then on.

The newly-crowned ABPBH 31’s Popular New Female Artiste is not about to take light the opportunities ahead of her.

“It was hard when I first started out. I made a measly RM80 after being on a drama set the whole day and night. But when the drama was aired, my face didn’t appear in any scene at all,” she said in a news report today.

“At the time, I didn’t mind getting paid so little. I didn’t know anyone in the industry and my family had no interest to see me pursue an acting career.

“So I had to work hard on my own to be where I am today. One thing I’m sure of is if you work hard you will definitely see the results one day and it will be worth all the sleepless nights,” said Farah.
