#Showbiz: KARD surprised it is popular in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The first mixed gender K-Pop band KARD didn’t expect it had a huge following in Malaysia.

“I’m thankful and welcome all the love and support extended by our Malaysian fans,” said its member, known as B.M, in a news report today.

It was reported that based on a poll on the choice of K-Pop bands Malaysians want to see performing here, KARD received the second highest votes, with the uber-popular BTS in the top spot.

“This is really a pleasant surprise for us. We promise to work really hard and make better music in future,” said another member J.Seph.

Besides B.M and J.Seph, the outfit which also made up of Somin and Jiwoo, made a special appearance at the Lazada 11.11 Super Show at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil last night.

Having released its debut EP titled Hola Hola last year, the relatively-new band was in town in conjunction with Lazada 11.11 Shopping Festival which began at midnight.

Others who performed included Indonesia’s Cakra Khan, Haqiem Rusli, Ayda Jebat, Wany Hasrita, Ella, Ziana Zain and Bunkface.
