#Showbiz: Cars belonging to Iqram Dinzly's family damaged in Ipoh storm

KUALA LUMPUR: Following strong winds that hit Ipoh yesterday, two vehicles belonging to actor Iqram Dinzly’s family members were damaged by an uprooted tree.

The 37-year-old artiste said that both cars – a Proton Gen 2 and a Proton Exora – owned by his brother and mother, respectively, were parked by the roadside in front of his family home.

“I was told that the winds were quite strong, that it even uprooted the huge tree in front of our house,” he said in a news report today.

“Fortunately, only our home’s extended roof was damaged by the strong wind,” said Iqram had to rush back to Ipoh to be with his mother who was a little traumatised by the incident.

In the incident which occurred about 5pm yesterday, some 20 houses in Kampung Gugusan Manjoi and Taman Keledang Raya were badly damaged due to the storm.

Iqram also commended the staff of Ipoh City Council for acting swiftly in assisting those affected by the disaster. The uprooted tree in front of the family’s home was also quickly removed by the time he arrived.
