#Showbiz: BTS' Jin shows support for junior group TXT

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular K-Pop outfit BTS showed support for a new music group, TXT, during its acceptance speech after winning a bonsang (main award) at the recent 28th Seoul Music Awards.

According to Koreaboo, BTS member Jin had called on people to support the upcoming group.

He said: “Our company (BigHit Entertainment) didn’t tell me to say this, but our Hoobae (junior) will debut soon. Please look after them!”

The news of BigHit’s plan to unveil a new boyband had been confirmed in news reports late last year although no exact details were released then.

But over the past few days, the label responsible for creating BTS had made a series of announcements on TXT.

It was revealed that the new group’s name apparently stands for Tomorrow X Together, which is pronounced as Tomorrow By Together.

Its first member, Yeonjun, was also introduced via a brief teaser video clip.

More recently, another short clip was released on the group’s second member, Soobin.

A previous statement from BigHit read: “Tomorrow X Together is a bright and youthful boyband where each member is different from one another, shining in their own way to create a synergy. Just as how their name suggests, the different members have all come together under one dream in hopes of building a new tomorrow.”

No confirmed date has been issued yet on when the full group will debut.

Meanwhile, fans of BTS can also rejoice in the fact that the group will be coming out with more material this year.

During BTS’ acceptance speech, Jin had also said: “Guys, to be honest, we’re preparing for an album. To be even more honest, the songs aren’t finished yet. But we’re working hard on it so please wait for a little bit.”
