#Showbiz: Linda Rafar picks lawyers, prepares for lawsuit

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress Linda Rafar, who recently lost her mother Rasimah Abdul Rahman, has picked advocates and solicitors Nurul Hafidzah And Associates, as her legal consultants for an impending lawsuit.

Lawyer Nurul Hafidzah Hassan from the legal firm confirmed that Linda was their client effective from yesterday.

“Our client denies all accusations against her and is considering appropriate legal action in response to the slander that has damaged her reputation,” said Nurul Hafidzah in a news report today.

Pop group Elite member Linda is facing a lawsuit from a non-governmental organisation the Delegation of Nurses, which has demanded an apology and compensation from her.

It wants Linda to apologise and compensate a group of nurses whom she had criticised, for not cooperating during Rasimah’s hospitalisation prior to her death.

The non-governmental organisation claimed that Linda had insulted the nursing profession, by attacking the nurses on social media.

Linda, 40, had criticised the nurses for not cooperating when she requested that her mother’s soiled bedsheet be replaced.

She denied insulting the profession, and had only targeted that group of nurses.

Linda also said that many people faced similar problems and that the truth would prevail.

Rasimah, 73, breathed her last at the Shah Alam Hospital at 9.30pm on Jan 11, due to several complications.

She had had her left hand amputated due to severe infection last month.

Rasimah is survived by six children and 17 grandchildren.
