KUALA LUMPUR: Marking her 20 years in music, Dayang Nurfaizah is gifting fans with a solo concert at Istana Budaya on July 21.
The vocal powerhouse who turns 38 a day before the concert, views it as the best birthday gift she has ever received.
The one-night only showcase, billed Dayang Dua Dekad, is produced by Shiraz Projects.
“I actually wanted the concert to fall on my birthday which is on July 20. However, the venue was booked on that date.
“But even then, I consider it as a meaningful birthday gift for me,” said the Kuching-born artiste in a news report yesterday.
Dayang also said that it had always been the practice in her previous concerts to share the stage with guest performers.
But this time around, she wants it to be exclusively hers alone.
While some other singers are stretching their concerts for several nights, Dayang wants hers to be just a one-night only performance.
“I want to be fair to the audience. I don’t want them to be comparing my performances on other nights. Just one night is good for me,” she said.
