KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV host Azrinaz Mazhar Hakim cannot stress enough the importance of one’s appearance when attending auditions for a TV hosting job.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, the 39-year-old shared some valuable tips for TV host wannabes.
Azrinaz said that while mental preparations and hosting techniques were important, a candidate’s appearance is also a determining factor.
“Female candidates should wear heels to ensure their posture is upright, and this does not mean platform shoes, and definitely not sneakers which are only suitable for walking around in shopping malls.
“Come wearing your best attire. Don’t attend the audition wearing and outfit which is fit for kenduri tahlil,” she wrote.
Azrinaz said candidates should win the jury’s hearts by dressing well just like how one would dress to impress on her first date.
She said there was no need to go overboard by altering or changing one’s original physical appearance.
“Don’t colour your hair green, or put on blue contact lenses, or pile up on thick make-up,” she added.
Azrinaz’s fans and followers generally agreed with her and thanked her for the valuable tips.
Azrinaz began her career in broadcasting with TV3 in 1997 and left the station when she tied the knot in 2005.
