KUALA LUMPUR: One of Bollywood’s highest-paid and popular celebrities, Priyanka Chopra could just be the next actress after Brie Larson to get her own Marvel superhero movie.
Recently, AceShowbiz.com reported that movie director Joe Russo had hinted that Marvel had been in talks with Priyanka, 36, on the possibility of her joining the franchise.
Russo, the co-director of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame was recently in Mumbai, India to promote the upcoming movie (Endgame), during which he mentioned about the possible collaboration with the actress in future.
“I’d love to work with Priyanka. I’m smiling only because we’re potentially talking to her about something. I’m just not going to say what yet,” Russo said in the news report.
As Russo did not specify which project that the actress was being approached for, there’s a chance that he might work with the Quantico star for a movie outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Priyanka, the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant, was already a big star in India before she expanded her career to Hollywood, by landing the lead role on the series Quantico, which ran from 2015 until 2018.
Among her notable Hollywood film credits include Baywatch (2017) and Isn’t It Romantic (2019).
Priyanka is married to American singer Nick Jonas, one third of the Jonas Brothers trio.
