#Showbiz: 'Train To Busan's Ma Dong Seok to star in Marvel's 'The Eternals'

KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning Korean actor Ma Dong Seok is confirmed to star in Marvel Studio’s new superhero movie, The Eternals.

According to Soompi, this will be the Hollywood debut for 48-year-old artiste who has starred in hit South Korean thrillers such as The Neighbour (2012), Train To Busan (2016) and last year’s The Outlaws.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige introduced the new cast for The Eternals last Saturday at the San Diego Comic Con in the US.

The Korean actor, who has been active in the film industry since 2005, was named by his English name, Don Lee.

He joins the star-studded ensemble that includes Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden and Kumail Nanjiani.

Yesterday, an official tweet from Marvel Studios announced the good news as well.

The new movie will be directed by Chloe Zhao and is expected to be released on Nov 6 next year.

The Eternals is a comic book series that was created by legendary American writer and artist Jack Kirby in 1976.

It follows the intriguing story of a superhuman race known as the Eternals who were birthed millions of years ago following genetic experiments conducted on Earth by the Celestials.

Ma Dong Seok is set to take on the role of the superhumanly strong hero Gilgamesh, whose strength is apparently similar if not greater than the likes of Thor or Hercules.
