#Showbiz: 'Sampai Bila' makes Misha Omar known among other races

KUALA LUMPUR: When award-winning Malay singer Misha Omar released her single Sampai Bila last year, little did she expect that the song would make an unusual impact in her career.

“After I released the song, I noticed that I had gained more fans from among other races,” the 37-year-old singer was quoted in a news report today.

“One time, while eating at a restaurant, I was even approached by a Chinese family who had asked if they could take a photo together with me.”

After a hiatus of five years, Misha felt blessed to be able to record the new song composed by Sharon Paul, with lyrics penned by Ahmad Fedtri Yahya and Shah Shamshiri.

Her previous single, Angin Syurga, was released back in 2013.

Misha said that she was happy to see Chinese and Indian fans in the audience during her solo concert last week at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas here.

“There were even fans who travelled from Brunei and Singapore to watch that concert,” she added.
