#Showbiz: Fan threatens to 'splash acid' at Elizabeth Tan

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-songwriter Elizabeth Tan had the shock of her life recently, when a female fan threatened to “splash acid” on her face.

The 25-year-old artiste said that the fan was unhappy that her boyfriend had often left comments on her Instagram account, and felt that they were “having an affair”.

“I’m going to lodge a police report on this within the next few days. Her threat to harm me sounded real, even though it was made on social media,” she said in a news report yesterday.

Tan also said that the fan’s boyfriend did not post “romantic messages” to her, but merely commended her for her work.

“The same female fan slammed my manager on social media over the last few months. She told him to block her boyfriend’s account, to prevent him from leaving comments on my Instagram.”

Describing the fan as “psychotic”, Tan said: “She told my manager to block her boyfriend’s account as he was ‘making advances’ at me.

“After my manager did so, she was still dissatisfied because her boyfriend was still able to leave comments on my Instagram with another account.

“She then demanded that his other account be blocked, failing which she would splash acid on my face,” said Tan.
