#Showbiz: Nadia Hasnan wins i-Sing, to represent Malaysia in Sweden

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Akademi Fantasia 6 finalist Nadia Hasnan is set to represent the country in international competition i-Sing in November.

The 29-year-old artiste who is also a radio announcer with Era won i-Sing Malaysia, the national-level contest for i-Sing, held at the Quill City Mall here yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, I've made it after lots of hard work. It's been a very tiring week for me, rehearsing, getting a stylish costume ready, but it was all worth striving for. Thank God!

“My next major task is to represent Malaysia in Sweden.

“I've never dreamt of going this far, but I'm delighted to have this wonderful opportunity and God willing I will give my best," said Nadia in an Instagram post yesterday.

Nadia performed two songs, Beyonce's hit song If I Were A Boy and Es Lilin by Nining Meida, which also saw her display great dance moves.

She took home a trophy and RM1,500.

Nadia finished fifth in AF6 in 2008. The reality show's sixth season was won by Sabahan singer Stacy Anam.

Nadia's best known songs are Kau Aku Satu, Cinta Twitta and Histeria, the theme song for the 2008 horror film Histeria which starred Liyana Jasmay and Scha Alyahya.

She has also appeared in comedy series Angguk-Angguk Geleng-Geleng and the telemovies Geng Raya Zizan and Kembali Kepada Fitrah.
