KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-actor Izzue Islam and his wife Awin Nurin expressed their gratitude to the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah for offering to assist them with IVF treatment.
The 29-year-old artiste said that Tunku Azizah met him backstage after the completion of the traditional play Mak Yong Raja Besar Maha Gading at Istana Budaya last month.
“I was surprised and touched by Tuanku's kind offer. Awin and I have been facing difficulty in having children for sometime, so Tuanku suggested that we pay a visit to her Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation which helps childless couples seek IVF treatment at selected fertility centres around the country," said Izzue in a news report today.
However, Izzue and Awin who have been married for six years now, will only be able to have the treatment early next year as his work schedule is "still very tight".
“I'm currently filming a drama series, and it will only be wrapped up in January next year," said Izzue.
Izzue, and Awin whose real name is Nurinafilah Waharudin tied the knot on June 2, 2013.
Izzue, or Muhammad Izzul Islam Mazlan is a former member of the pop group Forteen and his best known films include 29 Februari, Songlap, Mat Tudung, and XX Ray 3.
