#Showbiz: Aliff Syukri helps obese folk shed weight via a reality show

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri has come up with a reality show to help those weighing between 110kg and 300kg to lose weight and keep it off.

Called Akademi A-Comel, the reality show available on his Terlajak Laris YouTube channel will premiere on Nov 11, with new episodes airing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm.

Thirteen individuals have been chosen to be on the show. They were selected out of some 5,000 applications that Aliff had received.

“I felt the need to come forward and help these unfortunate individuals to lose weight and keep it.

“At Akademi A-Comel, the 13 contestants will go through a fitness training programme complete with a diet plan which consists of balanced and nutritious meals. They will also be supervised and monitored by professionals,” said Aliff in an Instagram posting yesterday.

Like most reality programmes, Akademi A-Comel which will run over a course of three months, will also have weekly elimination round.

At the end of the show, the last man standing will walk away with the grand prize of RM15,000 cash.

“Deciding on who gets the boot each week will be the fitness coaches as well as votes cast by viewers via Facebook.”

The contestants will be housed at Sugeh Resort in Sungai Buloh, a property owned by the entrepreneur.
