KUALA LUMPUR: Popular TV host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor attributes her success in business today to two relationship break-ups.
“Of course I’ve been hurt before. Actually, when I first started the hijab and contact lense business, I just got out from a failed relationship.
“I was only 25 then and was still searching for my identity,” she said in a recent interview on Astro’s Trek Selebriti show.
Instead of letting herself consumed with sadness, Neelofa focused on her business, poring over work at the office till 4am everyday for several months following the break up.
“I felt the need to keep my mind busy, so I focused on my business. I also wanted to prove to myself and my ex that even without him, I am still this strong individual,” she said.
The second heartbreak saw Neelofa, 30, taking her brand further, this time around, penetrating the global market.
“I wanted to prove to him that I could be more successful than him,” she said.
“I’m not the type who would shut myself in my bedroom and wallow in sadness, crying over lost love and looking at old photographs. No, no, no,” she added.
Neelofa’s honest revelation received much praise from her fans who view her story as an inspiration for them.
At the same time, fans were also curious to know who were the two men she was referring to.
