#Showbiz: 'Ashraf wanted to go on a trip together'

KUALA LUMPUR: The father of recently deceased actor, Ashraf Sinclair, said that his last conversation with his beloved son revolved around taking a vacation together.

In a news report yesterday, Mohamad Anthony John Sinclair revealed that the two had communicated via WhatsApp just a day before the actor's passing.

Ashraf, who had just returned from a fashion show in New York then, talked about his chance meeting with a particular man there.

"He told me that he had a really fun trip. He also met a man there who talked about his experience of visiting Scotland together with his own father."

"Feeling inspired by that, Ashraf invited me to do the same thing and wanted us to go next year for a summer trip."

"Unfortunately, this dream is now only a memory. It's ironic that a life can be taken away at such speed. But I accept it as fate," he said.

Mohamad Anthony was met during a tahlil ceremony, held last night, at the Al Ghufran mosque in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

The function was organised by Primeworks Studios, TGV Pictures, Infinitus and Sunstrong Entertainment.

This was apparently the first time that Mohamad Anthony had met with local media since Ashraf's passing on Feb 18 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

It was also reported that the actor's sister, Aishah, had described her sister-in-law, Bunga Citra Lestari (BCL), as a strong and resilient woman.

“Bunga has remained steadfast in facing this challenging trial. I can't claim to know what's in her heart, but, from what I can see, Ashraf certainly meant the world to her."

“She has the full support of family and friends. I've been praying continuously for her to remain strong now that she is living without him by her side."

Aishah added that the Sinclairs had returned home last Wednesday night, after spending close to a week in Jakarta.

"We will stay in close contact with Bunga and her son Noah. Even my parents will be frequently travelling to Jakarta to see them."

"I must stay strong myself to provide support to my parents and especially to Bunga and Noah," she said.

Ashraf died at the Metropolitan Medical Centre in Kuningan, Jakarta, at 5.51am (Malaysian time) on Feb 18.

He leaves behind a widow, BCL, and a 10-year-old son, Noah Aidan Sinclair.
