KUALA LUMPUR: It’s confirmed! Award-winning Sarawakian songstress Dayang Nurfaizah and singer-songwriter Faizal Tahir are indeed collaborating on a new song.
And they have also roped in hip-hoppers Yonnyboii and Tuju, a member of K-Clique.
This first Faizal-Dayang collaboration is X Missing You, which is jointly written and composed by Faizal, Mike Chan, Mage, Ja'a, Tuju and Yonnyboii. The catchy song is a production of Faithful Music with the cooperation of Warner Music Malaysia as distributor.
X Missing You's unofficial music video, showing its lyrics appearing on a moonlit night sky, was released on YouTube last Friday. The song with lyrics that speak about the end of a relationship, subsequent regret and a final resolve to move on, blends Dayang's smooth and soulful vocals with Faizal's powerful, pop-rock sound.
Tuju and Yonnyboii enhance it with their crisp and clear rapping skills.
On Feb 9, Dayang and Faizal both uploaded a similar posting on their respective Instagram accounts which hinted that they were working together on a new song.
They uploaded videos of themselves singing the chorus of X Missing You, and they also shared a similar caption "X Missing U".
Netizens were delighted, and told Dayang and Faizal that they were anxiously waiting for the new tune to top the charts.
"Oh my! Love you Dayang and Faizal. May this song be a chart topper," said Ramlah.
"Amazing! This is a treat I've been waiting for," said Che Siti.
"Congrats! Really missing you both," said Husna.
