#Showbiz: BCL breaks silence, thanks Netizens for support on birthday

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian singer-actress Bunga Citra Lestari celebrated her 37th birthday yesterday, and for the first time since her husband Ashraf Sinclair's death, she has spoken to fans on social media.

In an Instagram message yesterday, Bunga admitted that she had been having a difficult time, but was thankful to be blessed with a loving family and caring friends and fans.

Thanking Netizens for their birthday greetings and words of support, she called on them to offer some prayers for her late husband, and to stay safe in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bunga said: "I know I haven't posted anything lately.

"But on this special day, my birthday, I've decided to say a big thank you to all for your love and wishes.

"I'm blessed, surrounded by family, friends, fans and everyone who loves me and always gives me support.

"It has not been an easy journey, but slowly I'm getting up and walking.

"On my birthday I wish that all of you send your prayers for Ashraf and also for us to be safe from the pandemic.

"Stay safe everyone, stay at home. Let's take care of each other. I love you."

Two of her relatives, her brother-in-law Adam Sinclair and his wife singer-songwriter Yuna uploaded memorable photos of themselves with Bunga, as part of their birthday greetings.

Adam said: "Happy birthday Unge. Because we clicked so fast, sometimes I forget how long I've known you, how many good times we have had, and how happy I am when I get to see you. Good times fly by when you are having fun. Love you so much and happy to have you as a kakak, and one of my best friends."

Yuna said: "Happy birthday Bunga. Sad I can't visit you and give you the biggest hug ever but God willing I'll see you soon. How time flies. I will forever cherish this day when I got to spend time with you, Noah and late Asrhaf. Love you."

Bunga and Ashraf were maried in 2008 and they have a 10-year-old son Noah Aidan Sinclair. Ashraf, 40, died of a heart attack in Jakarta on Feb 18.
