#Showbiz: TV3's Wanita Hari Ini records daily viewership of 800,000

KUALA LUMPUR: TV3’s talk show Wanita Hari Ini (WHI) has recorded a growth in viewership since the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) which began on March 18.

The programme which airs at noon from Monday to Friday, now has a daily viewership of 800,000 as opposed to 500,000 before the MCO.

The show’s executive producer Siti Hatijah Yusof told Berita Harian it is undeniable that the stay-at-home order had played its part in the viewership growth.

“This growth of close to 300,000 viewers daily had not been expected. But as many are staying at home or working from home for now, we are seeing that many are tuning in to watch the programme too."

Hatijah added that it is a silver lining to the programme as it is not an easy feat for a local talk show to remain on air for a very long time like WHI and hoped that more would tune in to watch the show.

The show which first went on air back on New Year’s day in 2001, recently introduced two new hosts, Hawa Rizwana Redzuan and Fatin Hamimah, joining others such as Fiza Sabjahan, Hazrena Kassim, Fahrin Ahmad, Sugeeta and Uyaina Arshad.
