#Showbiz: Yuna celebrates 1st anniversary of Forevermore

KUALA LUMPUR: United States-based singer-songwriter Yuna is especially proud of Forevermore, one of her latest songs, because of its “colourfully Malaysian” music video.

The song which was released on YouTube on April 4 last year has garnered more than 2.6 million views, and its video shows Yuna singing and dancing at several tourist spots around the country.

These include Batu Caves, with its colourful flight of cave temple stairs, and the beautifully lit Bukit Jalil Sports Complex.

At the cave temple, Yuna is accompanied by a troupe of Indian classical dancers whose graceful hand movements give viewers the illusion of “magical hands” emerging from behind the singer.

Earlier this week, Yuna shared some scenes of Forevermore's music video on Instagram, in conjunction with its first anniversary.

In its caption she said: “Today is Forevermore Day! Happy birthday Forevermore. How time flies, still the best experience in my life.

“I loved working with every single person involved in making this song and shooting this music video, making this whole thing so special to me.

“Watching this video again makes me miss being outside and being at all these places. Never take things for granted.”

Netizens congratulated Yuna for sharing the music video. They described it as a beautiful tribute to Malaysians, especially during difficult times as the current Covid-19 pandemic.

“Beautiful, Yuna. Pure magic,” said Haida.

“A very Bangsa Malaysia tribute. Epic song, epic scenery. Thank you for putting this slice of Malaysian magic out into the world. Congratulations Yuna,” said Stella.

“Happy Forevermore Day! This is the best music video from the amazing Yuna. Great job Yuna and Adam. Love you guys,” said Nisa.

The music video was directed by Yuna's husband Adam Sinclair, the younger brother of the late Indonesian-based Malaysian actor Ashraf Sinclair.
