#Showbiz: Yuna delighted to be on NYC's giant billboards again

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer-songwriter Yuna is "on top of the world" after seeing her face on giant billboards in the Big Apple for the third time.

The US-based star whose real name is Yunalis Mat Zara'ai has become the "face" of audio-streaming platform Spotify's on-going campaign to celebrate successful Asians in America.

Yuna uploaded a photo of one of the billboards in the heart of New York on Instagram yesterday, and in the caption she said that she felt proud to be a face of successful Asians in the US.

"Look mum! I'm everywhere in New York. Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with Spotify. Yes!" she said, thanking Spotify for recognising her achievements.

"Thanks Spotify for having me as a part of this special month together with other talented Asian artistes.

"This visibility means a lot to us. I am a proud Asian and I'm always proud of my community.

"Wish I was there to witness it myself. I always miss my New York City billboard moments. Stay safe everyone!"

Los Angeles-based Yuna first saw her face adorn a giant billboard in November 2016.

She appeared on Nasdaq's iconic Times Square billboard in New York as part of a campaign to celebrate new musical icons.

Last year, Yuna was featured in an LED advertising board at Times Square, and it promoted her album Rouge which was launched on July 12.
