#Showbiz: Pierre Andre not ready to return to film industry, says Khatijah Tan

KUALA LUMPUR: Although her actor-director son Pierre Andre never once mentioned why he went totally off the film industry radar, veteran actress Khatijah Tan always knew that deep down, he was upset with the local film scene.

The 59-year-old artiste revealed that despite the many directing and script writing jobs offered, her 35-year-old son was still reluctant to make a comeback.

"At the moment, Pierre is very contented leading his own life with his wife and four-year-old daughter.

"They're still living in Kuala Lumpur and he is busy managing his online business," said Khatijah in a news report today.

She said Pierre once told her that he preferred leading a more low-key life.

"No matter what he said, I know his heart is still in the film industry. Sometimes, he comes up with short films and share them on the family's YouTube channel: Andre Brothers," she said.

Among the short films is one titled Loceng, which featured the family, including Pierre's brother, Mikail.

"But the content for the channel is only for the fun of it, not aimed at generating income," added Khatijah.

Pierre became popular after he playing the role of Reza in the 2005 film, Gol & Gincu.

But after directing the film Kecoh Primadona Kena Hantu in 2016, he slowly made his exit from the industry and the social media.

Despite telling her son to consider taking up directing jobs, Khatijah said Pierre was adamant about staying out of the industry's limelight, at least for now.
