KUALA LUMPUR: Cosmetic entrepreneur and celebrity Safiey Ilias pleaded guilty to two charges of owning and selling products not registered under the Control Of Drugs And Cosmetics Regulations 1984 at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court here today.

In a news report today, the magistrate had ordered the 26-year-old Safiey, whose full name is Mohd Saifuddin Ilias to pay RM5,000 fine for the first offence and RM18,000 for the second offence.

Safiey, who is the singer of the song Syinta Gila, said that this case would also serve as reminder to him and others.

"I admit I'm guilty to the charges and glad that this case is now over. I have also paid the RM23,000 fine just now.

"Besides serving as a self-reminder, I also hope that this will also set an example for others," said Safiey who refused commenting further.

He also refused comments on claims that he had been a victim of a sabotage.

Earlier, a warrant of arrest had been issued against him, for failing to appear in court twice, for the proceedings of the case.
