#Showbiz: Rihanna's tweet angers Indians

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Rihanna's recent tweet regarding Indian farmers' protest has drawn displeasure of many Indians including Bollywood stars and the country's politicians.

Many accused the 32-year-old Barbadian singer's tweet that read: "Why aren't we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest" as an ignorant comment, made without her understanding the real issue behind the protest.

In response to Rihanna's tweet, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, 33, wrote: "No one is talking about it because they are not farmers, they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA… Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies."

Kangana added that Rihanna, who haven't released any new song in the last five years, had never really taken to Twitter to share her opinion with her 100 million followers on any pressing issue with any conviction, but instead was prone to make half-baked comments on issues she vaguely understood.

Meanwhile, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted his response with hashtags #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and #IndiaTogether.

"No propaganda can deter India's unity! No propaganda can stop India to attain new heights! Propaganda can not decide India's fate… only 'Progress' can. India stands united and together to achieve progress," he wrote.
