#Showbiz: Astro suspends All Together Now Malaysia show

KUALA LUMPUR: Astro has suspended the reality singing programme All Together Now Malaysia following an investigation by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) over allegations of SOP violations.

Astro Malay entertainment content development strategy vice president Raqim Ahmad said that the fate of the programme that featured a jury of 50 individuals would only be known after the KKMM investigation was completed.

"Filming for All Together Now Malaysia was done in March in Putrajaya before MCO 3.0 was enforced.

"The production had conducted swab tests on every individual involved on the show before filming began.

"Only those who registered negative were allowed to continue with the filming," he said in a statement yesterday.

Raqim added that the multi-storied set that housed the celebrities were constructed according to specifications that allowed for physical distancing of 1.6 metres between jury members with each separated by a transparent barrier.

The recording process for the programme was also monitored by the authorities with representatives from the security agency.

After the first episode of All Together Now Malaysia aired on Sunday, Netizens claimed that the show had violated the strict SOP by pointing out that celebrities had not worn any face masks.

National Security Council (MKN) director-general Datuk Mohd Rabin Basir was reported yesterday to have ordered an investigation on an entertainment show produced by a private broadcaster over allegations of SOP violations.

Mohd Rabin said that KKMM would be taking appropriate measures if it was confirmed that SOP violations had occurred as claimed.
