#Showbiz: Dua Lipa to make acting debut in spy thriller

KUALA LUMPUR: British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa is set to make her film debut in an adaptation of the yet-to-be-published spy novel Argylle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 25-year-old artiste is set to be part of the cast of the first installment in a proposed trilogy franchise.

Set for filming in Europe next month, Lipa will appear as part of a varied A-lister cast that includes Catherine O'Hara, Samuel L. Jackson, Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, and John Cena.

In addition to handling the film's theme song, the Grammy winner will also contribute to its original score.

The film will be helmed by Matthew Vaughn, the director who was responsible for the Kingsman franchise.

Although Lipa uploaded a photo of what could be the pre-promotional poster of the film on her Instagram yesterday, she only wrote the film title and the Vaughn's production company in the caption.
