#Showbiz: Amar Baharin offers himself for Covid-19 booster shot

KUALA LUMPUR: Although no decision has been made yet on the need for third dose or booster injection for Sinovac vaccine, actor Amar Baharin has offered himself to be among the firsts to get it.

In an Instagram posting today, the 36-year-old artiste quoted an article that read: "The study also found that giving a third dose too early (28 days after the second dose) induced a much lower antibody level — only one third compared with a third dose given six or more months after a second dose."

Tagging Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin, he added: "If my health permits, let me be the first to try this booster shot."

The father of two toddlers said he was ready for the booster dose as he wanted to take extra precautions against the deadly coronavirus.

His posting received mixed responses from his followers. While some commended him for his willingness to do so, others questioned him for volunteering to be a "lab rat".
