#Showbiz: 'Don't fall victim to fake doctors' - Raja Ilya

KUALA LUMPUR: The recent news of a 31-year-old man who died after receiving aesthetic surgery from an uncertified beauty surgeon has made actress Raja Ilya see red.

The 36-year-old actress herself once fell victim to a "fake doctor" and suffered nasty side effects after undergoing aesthetic surgery a few years ago.

"Please wisen up, Malaysians! Don't put your health or your life at risk by visiting fake doctors who operate without licences," she said in a recent Instagram post.

Raja Ilya advised Malaysians who wanted plastic surgery to visit genuine doctors whose clinics were approved by the Health Ministry.

"It is time for the Ministry and the National Committee on Aesthetic Medical Practice to take stern action against fake doctors and their clinics. They are a danger to the health of Malaysians."

She added that the chemicals used by such doctors were not approved by the Ministry and endangered the lives of their clients.

It was reported yesterday that a man was found dead in a hotel room in Teluk Intan, Perak after receiving an injection to enlarge his back muscles.

He received the injection from a beautician from Melaka at a cost of RM500.
