KUALA LUMPUR: Carrying secrets around can be a burden yet everyone has them. So why do people feel compelled to keep them?
Exploring the curious nature of secrets is the main focus of a new theatrical work, titled Sarees And Secrets, which will take place online tomorrow (Feb 26).
The hour-long theatrical experience starting at 8pm via Zoom will feature a one-woman performance by producer and writer, Sumitra Selvaraj.
Directed by multidisciplinary storyteller and theatremaker, Dhinesha Karthigesu, the free-to-watch show is the result of a collaboration between Sumitra, Dhinesha and British theatre practitioner Abhi Arumbakkam.
The light-hearted yet introspective theatrical work, which will be presented mostly in English with a little Tamil, will also showcase several interactive moments as well as a post-show Q&A session at Sumitra's Instagram page.
Touted as a very relatable and cathartic experience for the open minded, the one-night only Sarees And Secrets is supported by the British Council's Connections Through Culture grant.
