#Showbiz: Technical problems cause of restarted 'The Batman' screening says TGV Cinemas

KUALA LUMPUR: TGV Cinemas has revealed that the recent restarting of a screening of The Batman after 45 minutes at its Vivacity Megamall branch in Kuching, Sarawak was due to technical issues and miscommunication.

The popular cinema chain added that the matter which had inconvenienced patrons during the particular 7.15pm screening on Saturday was not due to the late arrival of VIPs as was speculated online.

In a tweet on its official Twitter account yesterday, TGV said: "The session delays were caused due to a technical issue at our IMAX hall and not due to the late arrival of VIPs as has been wrongly stated in some media."

It added that, "At TGV, we honour and treat all our guests equally with the utmost priority."

TGV also provided a detailed explanation for the incident.

"The morning and afternoon shows in IMAX on the same day were also delayed due to technical issues.

"Our team acted swiftly to fix the technical issue and the evening 7.15pm session was able to start on time.

"However, due to miscommunication, some of the staff at the entrance presumed that the 7.15pm show would also be delayed.

"At this time, approximately 20 per cent of the guests had already entered the hall while the remaining 80 per cent were still waiting at the foyer and entered the hall after the movie had already commenced," it said.

TGV added it acknowledged its decision to stop and restart the movie had inconvenienced its customers.

"We assure you that we are taking corrective measures to ensure this is not repeated.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused," it said.

TGV added that all affected patrons would be receiving a full refund as well as two complimentary movie tickets for the unintentional ordeal.

The three-hour-long The Batman which is currently being screened nationwide is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell.
