#Showbiz: Justin Bieber to perform live in KL in October

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of Canadian popstar Justin Bieber will get to see him performing live at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium here on Oct 22.

In an event statement, the 28-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that he would also be holding concerts in Jakarta, Indonesia as well as in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo in Japan.

These shows are part of his much-anticipated Justice World Tour which spans more than 100 dates throughout this year and 2023.

The award-winning Stay, Peaches, Sorry and Love Yourself hitmaker is set to perform for fans in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Middle East.

More shows in Asia are expected to be announced very soon.

"It's such a surreal feeling that we are able to make this announcement after a 2-year pause.

"We are proud to bring the highly anticipated Justice World Tour to Malaysian fans this October.

The Justice World Tour which will kick off in Mexico in May, is Bieber's first global outing since his Purpose World Tour in 2016 and 2017.

Described by The Times of London as "mesmerising", the dazzling artiste played to 2.7 million fans over the course of the tour's run with the finale seen by 65,000 fans at London's British Summer Time Hyde Park festival.

On New Year's Eve in 2020, Bieber live streamed his first full performance in three years from Los Angeles, USA electrifying and reconnecting with fans around the world.

"We've been working hard to create the best show we've ever done, and we can't wait to share it with fans around the world. I'll see you soon," said the popstar in a statement.

The Justice World Tour is named after Justin's latest smash hit album Justice. Released in April 2021, it debuted as the most streamed album in 117 countries.

Justice has amassed nearly 9 billion streams worldwide, arriving on the back of huge international hits Anyone, Lonely and Holy, which had already gathered two billion streams prior to the album's release.

Another breakout smash hit from the album immediately followed, with Peaches racking up over 2.5 billion streams so far.

The Kid Laroi duet Stay, was released in July last year and became the fastest song ever to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

In an unprecedented career that started when he was 13 years old, Bieber has released six studio albums and holds 32 Guinness World Records, 21 Billboard Music Awards, 2 BRIT Awards, 18 American Music Awards and 21 MTV Europe Music Awards.

He has sold over 80 million albums and broke Elvis Presley's record last year as the youngest solo artiste to have 8 albums reach No.1 on the Billboard 200 Charts.

Recently named Artist Of The Year at the MTV Video Music Awards and nominated for a field-leading 8 MTV EMA Awards, Bieber remains the No.1 artiste on both YouTube and Spotify worldwide.

Tickets for his upcoming concert in Malaysia will go on sale on March 31 at 11am.
