#Showbiz: Media Prima wins 16 awards at Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2022 [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Media Prima Berhad took home 16 out of 72 awards at the Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2022 last night.

In the three-hour television and radio awards show broadcast live on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) from the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here, Media Prima won Best TV Drama for Pencipta Pegang Waktu on TV3, Best TV Drama Actress (Khatijah Tan/Rabak/TV3), Best TV Drama Director (Zainorhisyam Samudin/Pencipta Pegang Waktu/TV3), Best TV Drama Supporting Actor (Datuk Hilal Azman/Amanat/TV3), Best TV Drama Supporting Actress (Nabila Huda Suhaimi/Jeti/TV3), Best TV Talk Show (Lambaian Tidak Kesampaian/TV3), Best TV Promotion (Lagu Cinta Kita 3/TV3) and Best TV Journalist (Mas Zharif Zhafri Abdul Azid/TV9).

Media Prima also won Best TV Magazine (Majalah 3/TV3), Best TV Host (Fedtri Yahya/Jejak Rasul/TV3), Best TV Newscaster (Norliza Mohd Zain/Buletin Utama/TV3), Best TV Set (Halaqah 2020/TV3), Best TV Graphics (Imbauan 2020/TV9), Best TV Special Effects (Halaqah 2021/TV3), Best YouTube PSA (Buletin TV3/TV3) and the RM8,000 Special Jury Award (Halaqah: Bencana, Muhasabahkah Kita?/TV3).

The Best TV Documentary was Social Playlist on Astro while the Best TV Drama Actor went to Eman Manan for Satu Kampung Dua Orang on Astro.

Veteran actress Fauziah Nawi received the Tokoh Seri Angkasa award worth RM10,000 and a Mitsubishi Expander sponsored by DRB-Hicom for lifelong contributions to the broadcasting industry.

"Thank you so much, my friends, fans and loved ones who have been with me all these five decades in entertainment and broadcasting. It's a crowning glory for me and I wish to share it with all my peers who have been passionate with their crafts," said Fauziah upon receiving her award.

She also said that the new vehicle was a "much-needed" gift as her previous car was damaged in a fire.

Executive Producer for Pencipta Pegang Waktu Nor Shahila Harun Shah said: "I want to thank everyone involved in the drama and all viewers who gave this amazing drama their fullest support."

A total of 55 nominations from Media Prima were in the running for the top spot in 28 award categories including five new digital categories.

Organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, the two-night event which began yesterday was attended by Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Deputy Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin and the Ministry's secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek.

The top winners received RM350,000 from the Digital Content Fund of the Ministry, namely RM200,000 for Best Drama and RM150,000 for Best Documentary.

Each of the category winners received RM5,000.

The previous edition of Anugerah Seri Angkasa was held in 2016.

Annuar said that this year saw a surge in nominations, 1,586 in total.

"This is a record number. Of that total, 1,035 nominees are for TV categories, 276 for radio, and 43 for new media," he said.

Nominations included works from TV Alhijrah, the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (JAKIM), the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), Astro, Media Prima, Radio Kita Sdn Bhd, TVS, Star Media Radio Group, Suara Johor Sdn Bhd and RTM.

The award presenters included Datuk Rosyam Nor, Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba, Nasha Aziz, Nasir Bilal Khan, Fauzi Nawawi, Kavitha Sidhu, Jessica Ong, Wan Kamaruddin, Zulin Aziz, Muaz Mohamad, Chong Jun Hoong, Maya Karin and Jack Nadarajah.

On both nights, guests were entertained by popular artistes who included Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Ella, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat, Hazama, Genervie Kam, Misha Omar, Naqiu, Lah Ahmad, Azlan Rosle, Amir Masdi, Idayu Yaakob, Haqiem Rusli, Tajul, Akim Ahmad, Stacy Anam, Wani Kayrie, Nikki Palikat, Adam Mat Saman and Salma Aziz.

Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2022 was co-hosted by Awal Ashaari and Jeed Zulkifli yesterday and Fara Fauzana, Terrence Dass and Enn Xaviera tonight.
