#Showbiz: Nad Zainal out of ICU, in good spirits

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nad Zainal, 32, has finally left the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital after spending close to a month there.

Nad's longtime collaborator, drama producer and director Shahrulezad Mohameddin said that the Kampung Girl actress was now in stable condition and able to perform daily routines, even though doctors were still monitoring her condition.

"This is great news. Nad is no longer in the ICU, no longer intubated and can laugh and smile as before.

"She can visit the lavatory even though we've advised her against it because her lungs are not strong," said Shahrulezad in an Instagram post yesterday.

Shahrulezad also said that Nad's family thanked all of her fans and friends for their constant prayers, and urged the public to only follow updates on the actress' recovery process from her family, her close friend actor Ungku Ismail Aziz or himself.

Nad has been hospitalised since Nov 23 as a result of an auto-immune ailment, which has resulted in haemorrhaging in her lungs.

She was placed under an induced coma by doctors, who have successfully halted the haemorrhaging.
