KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran singer Ibnor Riza, 62, has been diagnosed with lymphoma and will soon undergo chemotherapy to beat the cancer.
In a recent Instagram video which was shared by his close friend, veteran singer Datin Salwa Abdul Rahman, Ibnor said that this was the cause of the swelling around his neck.
"I'm now in Port Dickson Hospital, but today is my last day here. I will be moved to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban next," said a tearful Ibnor in the video.
"Please pray for the success of my treatment."
It was reported on Jan 4 that Ibnor was suffering from several illnesses which included diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and loss of voice.
He said that his illnesses had severely affected his singing career.
Ibnor, whose best known songs are Meneka Dalam Kesamaran and Mimpi Yang Tak Sudah, said that he "sounded like a duck" when he tried to sing and as a result of his illnesses, he had been without an income for three months.
