KUALA LUMPUR: Jazz and piano music fans will get a hefty dose of performances during the 3-day Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival (MJPF) at KLPAC, here from June 9 to 11.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, MJPF will feature 4 main events beginning with the College night, followed by the premier of the fest's first Virtuoso concert, the Lindy Hop matinee and the 10th Gala Anniversary concert finale.
Collegian Night on June 9 will showcase a multitude of talented musicians from UCSI, ICOM, Aswara, UiTM, Sunway University and UPM.
Virtuoso Night (June 10) will see performances by Alton Wong, Sylvia Wong, Leon Yuen and Zhafrizul, while the audience will get to see The Frankie Sixes and BonaHop in action during the Lindy Hop matinee (June 11).
The Gala 10th Anniversary finale concert on June 11 at 8.30pm will showcase local big guns of jazz such as Junji Defino with WVC, Rhythm Break, WLi Cheah Quartet featuring Anais, Rizal Tony Group featuring Alwagera and Pop n' Bop.
The festival presented by MJPF and KLPAC, is proudly created by musicians and conducted by musicians.
Other events during MJPF 10, taking place at KLPAC's Pentas 2 and Indicine venues, include a competition, free workshops, masterclasses and a forum for fans and students.
