KUALA LUMPUR: KLPAC's Unforgettable: Lagenda Malaysia tribute concert pays homage to legendary Malaysian artistes from the 60s to the 90s that have become household names such as Sudirman, Saloma, P. Ramlee, Ramli Sarip, M. Nasir, Sheila Majid, Alleycats, Search, Wings, and many more.
The show will be presented this weekend (Aug 19 & 20) as part of the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival 2023 (YSDAF 2023) finale at KLPAC.
The YSDAF 2023 Gala Night performance will also be having an extended run from Aug 24 to 27 as a fundraiser for KLPAC and TAS Foundation.
Music fans will be able to enjoy a magical evening of well-known Malaysian tunes such as One Thousand Million Smiles, Getaran Jiwa, Madu Tiga, Doa Buat Kekasih, Sinaran and Ikhlas Tapi Jauh performed by Fuad of Kyoto Protocol with new talents Alisya Jamali, Andrew George, Hazziq, Lisa Marilyn Anthony and Miza Rosli.
The six vocalists will be accompanied by a 30-member KLPAC Orchestra conducted by Lee Kok Leong (music director) and a 4-piece band led by Jacqueline Teng (co-music director, band leader and keyboardist).
The heart-warming tribute aims to honour Malaysia's rich musical heritage, as well as to celebrate Merdeka month and usher in the Malaysia Day celebrations.
The 80-minute concert with a 15-minute intermission is directed by Ian Chow and Datuk Dr Faridah Merican.
