KUALA LUMPUR: Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, her husband of 45 years, have been confirmed to be separated for more than six years now.
In a Vanity Fair report yesterday, a representative of the 74-year-old American actress had reportedly issued a statement to People Magazine that read: "Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than six years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart."
Streep however, was reportedly seen to continue wearing her wedding band, even after the parting, as spotted on her finger last Friday, when she showed up at the Princesa de Asturias Awards in northwest Spain.
However, when Vanity Fair reached out to Streep for comment, it had not received any response from her as of publication time.
The pair, who have been married since 1978, share four children and five grandchildren.
Streep and Gummer are parents to four children: singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe, 43;
Mamie Gummer (also an actor), 40; Grace Gummer, 37, and; Louisa Jacobson, 30. They also have five grandchildren.
