#Showbiz: Aedy Ashraf reminds young fans to pursue their education to the highest level

KUALA LUMPUR: "I have never said education isn't important. It is important for everyone. Having said that, hard work is equally important," says actor Aedy Ashraf.

The 30-year-old artiste shared this with reporters recently when asked to comment on his revelation about quitting school at the age of 16 on the podcast programme called Studio Sembang, hosted and produced by fellow artiste Amelia Henderson last month.

Aedy, whose full name is Mohammad Addy Ashraf Rosmadi, said he had to quit school and focus on acting then as he needed to help his family financially.

"If I had choices, I would definitely finish my formal education as far as possible.

"Alas, I wasn't fortunate enough to be born in a well-off household," he said.

Aedy reminded his young fans not to follow his footsteps and said they should pursue education up to the highest level if they have the means.

Asked if he regretted the decision he made in his teens, Aedy said no, adding that he accepted that as his fate.

"Besides, I never stop learning. I read up a lot on acting and even took up online courses to improve my acting skills," said Aedy at the media screening of War On Terror: KL Anarki held at GSC LaLaport BBCC here recently.

In the action film which will open in cinemas on Nov 23, Aedy plays the lead role Khalid, one of the members of the anti-terrorist special force of the police force.

Others in the cast include Adlin Aman Ramlie, Farali Khan, Daiyan Trisha, Qi Razali, Noki K-Clique, Wan Hanafi Su and Naque Ariffin.
