#Showbiz: Siti Nurhaliza plans to have a bigger concert than Coldplay's before she retires

KUALA LUMPUR: Following the record 75,000 attendance at Coldplay's concert, pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza says she hopes to "beat" their achievement.

"Coldplay beat my two-decade record of 70,000 achieved during my Siti Nurhaliza Fantasia Tour of 2004. Amazing, but I believe my fans and I can still surpass them someday," she said on X (formerly known as Twitter) yesterday.

"I'm not competing with them, and neither am I in a hurry to regain my top spot in terms of concert attendance. But I honestly believe that with the strong support of my fans, I can hold a concert bigger than this before I retire," said Siti, who received strong support and encouragement from her fans.

It was reported last Sunday that Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres concert was attended by 75,000 guests compared to 70,000 guests at Siti's 2004 Fantasia Tour.

Other notable performances at Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil included Indian musician A.R. Rahman's Secret Of Success concert in January which attracted 67,000 people and K-Pop queens BlackPink's Born Pink Tour in March which attracted 62,000 people.

Hong Kong Cantopop king Jacky Cheung's Music Odyssey 2002 concert was attended by 50,000 fans and British rock band Muse's Will Of The People in July also attracted 50,000 fans.
