#Showbiz: Songs of healing and hope by 'magnificent seven'

KONSERT Patah Hati 2.0 didn't have Bunkface as the rock trio couldn't make it but husband-and-wife team Syamel Fodzly and Ernie Zakri were worthy replacements.

Organised by ANS Diversified, the concert, which also included performances by Naim Daniel, Aisha Retno, Nadeera Zaini, Neeta Manis and Ismail Izzani, entertained over 2,000 music fans.

 BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCES

The evening show kicked off with a cover version of Ning Baizura, Jaclyn Victor and Shila Amzah's 'Beribu Sesalan', beautifully sung by Nadeera, Aisha and Neeta, who gave it a chirpier sound without dampening any of the melancholy.

A black-clothed Nadeera later performed Agnes Monica's 'Sebuah Rasa' and Datuk Rossa's 'Hati Yang Kau Sakiti'.

"Whenever we feel down, we should always talk to friends. It is always good to have someone to confide in," she said.

The power-packed singer-songwriter sang her latest single, 'Emas', next before delivering a medley of Datuk Francissca Peter's Sekadar Di Pinggiran, Fauziah Latiff's 'Gubahan Rindu Puisi Syahdu' and Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's 'Seribu Kemanisan'.

"This last song and its original singer are truly beautiful. May God bless her," said Nadeera, before ending her segment with a sing-along of the late Adibah Noor's 'Terlalu Istimewa'.

 ALWAYS BE HAPPY

Ismail, dressed in white, then took to the stage to sing Justin Bieber's upbeat song 'Angels Speak'.

"Now here's three of my favourite songs, especially for all of you," said the singer, before delivering his hits, 'Sabar', 'Luar Biasa' and 'Demi Kita'.

At one point he even played the guitar while his fans sang along to the choruses.

Ismail then ended his segment with a rendition of Chris Brown's 'With You'.

Aisha, who appeared in gold attire, was next to entertain the audience with 'Pencarianku'.

"Always be happy, for nothing makes me happier than this," she said, before belting out a medley of Indonesian singer Lyodra's Sang Dewi, Anggi Marito's Tak Segampang Itu, Asila Maisa's Angkat Tangan and Sheila On 7's hit 'Berhenti Berharap'.

Aisha also gave a power-packed performance of Rossa's monster hit 'Pudar', before ending her segment with 'Ternoktah', her latest single, 'Sutera', and a medley of her songs, 'Cukuplah', 'Terbang' and 'Wanna Hold U Tight'.

That last song saw her singing a duet with her younger brother Radi.

 A BAND AFFAIR

Naim then emerged in white and performed with his newly formed, five-member band Muah.

"While I'll still be singing my own pop songs as a solo act, Muah as a team will also come up with its own rock songs," he said.

The new music outfit delivered Naim's rousing 'Kajang', Elkasih's 'Kau Tigakan Cintaku' and Sheila On 7's 'Sephia'.

He then got the audience singing along to the moving chorus of his hit song 'Purnama', a hauntingly beautiful anthem about pain.

"Music is a healer, so whenever you are down, listen to music," said Naim, before ending his segment with BBF, Larut and Adakah Engkau Menungguku.

 SOULFUL TUNES AND POWERFUL MEDLEYS

Dressed in green, Neeta then moved the audience with her brief session where she sang three original songs, namely 'Hanya Mimpi', 'Depresi' and 'Move On'.

"Being sad is normal, but we shouldn't be sad for too long. Always speak to someone, whether a friend or a family member," she said.

Syamel, wearing a green suit, began his segment with a medley of his soulful songs, 'Hidup Dalam Mati', 'Belakang Tabir' and 'Lebih Sempurna'.

"Always be happy. If you are sad, try to smile, and things will work out right," he said, before singing Gio's 'Bila Cinta'.

The second "lady in gold" Ernie then took to the stage and launched into a powerful medley of her songs 'Korban', 'Ku Bersuara' and 'Dawai'.

After that, she belted out her new song, 'Masing-Masing'.

Syamel then returned to join Ernie for a medley of pop and rock hits comprising  Kristal's 'Cinta Tiga Segi', New Boyz's 'Meraung', the late Siti Sarah Raissuddin's 'Bersamamu' and Ella's 'Sembilu', which drew a standing ovation from the crowd.
