KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and television host Dynas Mokhtar, 40, recently had the shock of her life when her bank balance was reduced to "zero."
In an Instagram video today, Dynas whose real name is Wan Edrinas Wan Mokhtar said that she discovered that her bank savings had "disappeared" when she was performing a transaction to pay her personal assistant.
Declining to reveal the name of the bank, Dynas said: "I was going to pay my assistant after filming a series, and when I entered my account, I had a rude shock – my account was empty!"
The actress said that she did not own a credit card but when she later received an account statement from the bank, she found that several transactions involving foreign currency had been made.
"I promptly lodged a police report at the Brickfields police station. I trust the police to nab those scammers who have been robbing me on the quiet," said Dynas, who thanked her friends and fans for showing their concern.
"Please pray that I will get my money back. I don't want this to happen to anyone.
"We must be careful when performing online transactions, scammers are aplenty these days, and they can rob us in a flash.
"Also, we should not reveal our debit card numbers to anyone."
