KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, who hails from Pahang, is proud of her state's Ruler Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah who has served the country with distinction as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong from Jan 31, 2019 until yesterday.
She described Sultan Abdullah who also began his reign as Pahang's Ruler in 2019 as the "people's King" who was always down to earth, informal, sporting and concerned about the people's well-being.
"Tuanku is a Ruler with the common touch and he has brought out these qualities beautifully during his five years as King," said Siti in an Instagram post yesterday.
"Malaysians will always cherish his reign and he will always be the King of our hearts."
Siti also paid tribute to Sultan Abdullah's consort Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah for her friendliness, love of cooking, handicrafts and fashion, and her compassionate and caring ways.
"As a daughter of Pahang Darul Makmur I want to thank Tuanku Sultan and Tengku Ampuan for a wonderful five years as King and Queen. I am most honoured and proud to have a Sultan and Tengku Ampuan who have set the benchmark for future Rulers and their consorts," said Siti.
"Welcome home to Pahang, and may God bless you with good health and a long reign. May the people of Pahang continue to enjoy progress and development under your leadership."
