"Some areas in Japan were hit by an earthquake just now and we were in a Metro (train) when it happened."We didn't feel anything but when we saw the news and some videos, it was quite bad. Some of our friends were feeling it from their hotel room.

"Alhamdulillah, my family and I are okay and thank you so much for checking on us. "In central Tokyo everyone seems to be going on with their lives since they're so used to it.

"Hopefully we will be safe and Allah protects us and everyone here in the Land of the Rising Sun," he wrote. Awal and his family arrived in Tokyo on Saturday.
