#Showbiz: Connect with the arts at TAS Academy @ klpac Open Day

KUALA LUMPUR: TAS Academy at the Kuala Lumpur performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) will be holding its Open Day on Jan 20 and 21.

Adults and children will get to experience a little dose of art, culture and health during the weekend of free trial classes, theatre tours and more.

Parents can check out the Academy's Speech and Drama programme, which offers a pathway from 3 years old up to 18 years old.

Trial classes are available for those who want to see if they would like to sign up for the first semester beginning on Feb 24.

Those who enjoy healing and self-love can get look out for the gentle Hatha Yoga in the Park trial class by Harsvini Loganathan aimed at improving joint health and flexibility.

Also, try out Master TC Ling's Body Ache Relief class.

The Head Coach of Nanyang Shaolin employs Zen martial arts techniques to relieve muscle pain.

Other exciting teaser classes on offer during the TAS Academy @ klpac Open Day 2024 include Improv Fundamentals by Tung Jit Yang (NYU's Tisch School of Arts), Contemporary Dance by Zhafir Muzani of Oh My English! fame (Best Male Dancer, Short+Sweet and winner of World Championship of Performing Arts) and Modern Dance for All! By Nicholas Low (Top 8 in Labu-labi Freestyle Dance Battle).

The Academy is offering a special rebate of RM20 for those who sign up for its courses during the Open Day.

The Academy's 10-week Acting Foundations course by Omar Ali starting on Jan 13 is a great launchpad for newbies.

Designed by a layman for his fellow laypeople, Omar is well known as a patient guide, generously sharing useful tips and tricks of the trade.

Other courses coming soon include Malay Gamelan for Adults and a Cantonese Opera Workshop.
