KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok has been unable to visit Malaysia due to health issues.
Kwok was scheduled to attend a press conference yesterday with fellow Hong Kong actor Gordon Lam for their new film Rob N Roll at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Jalan Bukit Bintang and Golden Screen Cinemas LaLaport in Jalan Hang Tuah.
The 58-year-old singer-actor apologised to fans in a press statement for his "sudden health problem" and added that doctors advised him to take a break and avoid long-haul flights.
In place of Kwok, Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung Ho Yee, who also stars in Rob N Roll, joined Lam at the press conference and meet-the-fans sessions at both shopping centres.
Rob N Roll tells the story of Tin (Kwok), a former wrestler who became a robber and successfully stole millions in a major heist.
However, the stolen cash disappears when his best friends, Robby (Lam) and Fai (Richie Jen), unintentionally disrupt his plans.
The trio forms a robbery team to locate the missing money and evades police officer Ginger (Cheung)'s relentless pursuit.
Rob N Roll, which also stars Simon Yam and David Chiang, premieres in cinemas on Feb 10.
