KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has received a Chinese New Year gift from Hollywood actor Liam Neeson.

In a recent post on her Instagram account, the 42-year-old artiste wrote: "Feeling blessed to have the opportunity to work alongside such a genuinely kind soul like Liam. Thank you for the beautiful flower and Chinese New Year wishes."

The entry was accompanied by a selfie with the 71-year-old Irish actor who has starred in numerous films such as Schindler's List, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Love Actually, Batman Begins and Taken.

Fan, who has starred in a variety of films like I Am Not Madame Bovary, Stretch, My Way, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Skiptrace, also shared a photo of the gift – a potted plant and a card.

The card from Neeson read: "Bingbing, a healthy and a fulfilling and happy new year to you and your lovely family. It is a great pleasure and honour to work with you."

Fan and Neeson are believed to be currently filming the upcoming American action thriller, The Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky, in Australia.

Written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, the film is a sequel to the 2021 film The Ice Road which also starred Neeson in the lead role as Mike McCann.

It was reported that the new film will see ice road driver McCann and his capable Mount Everest guide Dhani (played by Fan) working together to save themselves and those around them when they run into a group of mercenaries while travelling on a tour bus in Nepal.
